"Business Agility = Product + Technology in Close Collaboration"

Agile Leadership Summit

The business world is changing faster than ever. Dynamic global markets are forcing organizations to adjust to meet ever changing customer demands. Advances in technology are providing both opportunities and challenges for our software product lines. And even though agile approaches have been in use for nearly 20 years, many still struggle to achieve the full promise of agility.

Join in the conversation with your peers as experienced business & technology leaders gather to share ways to manage product innovation and delivery in the face of ever increasing competition and continuous change. Work with your peers to understand and adapt to the changes happening around us and how to deliver innovative and high-quality software in the face of it.

At the 2018 Agile Leadership Summit you’ll get the best of two worlds – two world class leadership presentations to inspire you. Then you’ll collaborate in small groups to brainstorm ideas for tackling some of the thorniest issues and challenges facing you and the other leaders in the room. Hear what is working—and not working—and have the opportunity to share your experiences and successes.

You’ll leave energized and with ideas that you can put into practice the minute you land back home.

In this Summit, program chair Bob Galen has invited two senior industry leaders—Don MacIntyre and Anne Hungate—for an interactive exchange of ideas and experiences. Each of these leaders brings a unique perspective to the table and will provide Summit participants with lessons learned and practical techniques for leading teams, addressing management challenges, and gaining senior management buy-in.

The Agile Leadership Summit is a perfect opportunity for you to:

  • Participate in insightful and informative sessions focusing on leadership issues
  • Meet and network with your peers in the industry
  • Join in the “solution group” discussion with industry veterans
  • Develop new ideas, strategies, and action plans for innovation within your organization

A common trend that we see with organizations excelling with Agile is that they have engaged leadership teams. By engaged, we do not mean that leadership is merely supportive of the Agile efforts underway, we mean leadership is actively engaged in the process to execute and improve.

Well performing Scrum teams should be identifying impediments each Sprint. Many of these issues may be resolved at the team level, but some may be organizational or systematic constraints requiring action from higher levels of the organization. If not resolved quickly, these impediments will continue to...

Maya Angelou tells us if we know better, we do better. As leaders of technology professionals, it is our responsibility to know better so our teams, our customers, and our lives are better. Knowing “better” has never been more challenging – from exponential changes in technology to managing a multi-generational workforce – what constitutes “better” is a moving target. How do we keep up with the latest trends in DevOps while learning new policy requirements and still hitting our committed numbers… and attending every travel ball game our child plays?

“Lead Yourself First” is an...

Brainstorming & Solutioning—Within the groups, you'll brainstorm a set of potential solutions (experiments, ideas, tactics, changes, etc.) as a way of attacking the problem you identified in Part-1. The goal will be to present these solutions outward to the larger group, so clear articulation of your solution strategy is required.
