Scaling Agile and DevOps Capabilities
It is important for businesses to understand scaling agile and DevOps capabilities before considering an agile transformation. In this session, Dr. Tawanna Sargent will share her experience joining a business that wanted to go through an agile transformation, but leadership didn't know how to make this happen. Dr. Sargent quickly learned about the organization and discovered that structure and alignment did not adhere. This session will dive into the key lessons learned including creating synergy and autonomy in teams, SAFe improving DevOps, identifying ineptitudes, and embracing the journey of lean thinking throughout the organization.
Dr. Tawanna Sargent is currently an Agile Coach with Agile Private Investments, LLC. She started her IT career as a Helpdesk Analyst and this role increased her tech awareness in infrastructure, networking, application migrations, computer science, and information systems. While working at an IT Firm in 2009, agile was introduced and she moved into a Scrum Master role. After spending nine years in health care, logistics, and finance as Scrum Master to Lead Scrum Master, Dr. Sargent moved into roles as an Agile Coach and Enterprise Agile Coach and blending years of information technology, teaching, and agile have merged her into who she is today. Dr. Sargent is also a professor, teaching Data Warehouse and Data Visualization in the Master's Program at Dallas Baptist University and several Bachelor courses at Western Governors University.
