Yes, DevOps and Continuous Testing Are Possible in Non-Agile Environments

Agile development disciplines, along with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), have transformed how teams develop and deliver applications in short bursts with higher quality. The next step is DevOps, the central concept of which is to manage end-to-end engineering processes and focus on constant testing, to deliver fast in a highly collaborative environment. Successful teams know the secret to delivering high-quality products so quickly is in continuous testing, especially leveraging automation capabilities. However, teams don't necessarily need to be agile in order to adopt CI/CD, DevOps, or continuous testing. Ramapriya Raju will show how, even in non-agile environments, a large portion of DevOps best practices can be implemented efficiently by application development and testing teams, ultimately improving the time to market and delivery quality. You will learn about shifting left and right along the software development lifecycle; how everyone can adopt continuous improvement techniques, from team members to executives; and some innovative techniques to move toward continuous delivery, irrespective of your development model.
