Transforming a Testing Organization: An Exercise in Facilitation, Education and Courage

We are in a transformative wave, where companies across all industries are breaking down siloed IT departments and federating them into product teams. Testing and its practices are at the heart of these changes. Traditionally, IT organizations have been staffed with mostly manual testers and a limited number of automation and performance engineers. To keep pace with development in the new “you build it, you own it” environment, testing teams and individuals must develop new technical skills to stay relevant and add greater value to the business.

Join Adam Auerbach as he describes his experiences leading a large testing organization thru the transformation from Testers to Quality Engineers. Learn how he was able to get buy in from his team as well as his peers. See how Adam uses methods like Value Stream Analysis to get alignment as well as how the teams can 'drink their own champagne' in order to build confidence and create change agents. Take home tips and proven best practices for leading transformations based on Adam's battle scars.
