The Workshop on Regulated Software Testing (WREST)
Join us at The Workshop on Regulated Software Testing (WREST)—a free, full-day bonus session held on Friday after the conference concludes. A unique peer workshop, WREST is dedicated to improving the practice of testing regulated systems. We define regulated software as any system that is subject to an internal or external review.
WREST relies on its attendees to make the workshop a success. There are no formal presentations, only experience reports with plenty of time designated for facilitated discussion. We hope to learn from each other by hearing the success and (especially!) failure stories of real practitioners who test regulated software. Have a problem you want input on solving? You can bring that to the workshop as well—just be prepared to participate! WREST is hosted by Griffin Jones and Jim LeBaron.

Griffin Jones is an Agile consultant and coach, specializing in applying human-centered systems thinking to regulated industries. He has a technical background of over twenty-five years of testing as an individual contributor, Manager, Director, and Consultant - for medical device and pharmaceutical companies, clinical research organizations, banks, and insurance companies. Griffin has been responsible for all matters relating to the establishment and maintenance of a Quality Systems, the execution of verification and validation (testing), and the presentation and representation of results to internal and external regulatory auditors. Jim LeBaron is an Agile Manager working for MasterControl, a company that provides QMS solutions for FDA regulated companies. Jim has worked over 18 years in the industry, and over 11 years in a regulated environment. Jim has experience authoring, executing, automating and reviewing validation documents, hosting audits and streamlining validation processes. Jim loves the challenge of making Agile work with the added complexities of regulation. Jim can be reached at [email protected].
