IoT Testing Workshop

Add to calendar

The Internet of Things now has a strong foothold in our world. If your business is not prepared for it now, it’s already behind. The IoT is no longer something talked about as a futuristic concept. With the proliferation of connected devices, connected appliances, connected cars, and even connected clothes, the stage is set and IoT apps are here to stay. Our testing, product management, and development teams need to be preparing to address how to develop and test in this new world we live in. The explosive growth of the IoT market has had a major impact on mobile testing and testing in general. Testers who are used to traditional platforms are now asked to test on newer devices and more advanced platforms, even those that have never been tested on before. Testers must race to keep up with the demand for new skills, new strategies, and an entirely new set of knowledge for testing IoT apps. Therefore, IT organizations must master the new skills, tools and architectures required by the Internet of Things. We will review where we are today and the challenges that IoT and increased complexity are posing to our testing profession, what tools are available to aid in testing, and how IoT impacts all of us. You will learn what to start thinking about and planning for in your testing, what other organizations are doing to prepare for IoT in their testing, the new skills needed for testers, and common challenges with IoT testing.
