Work (and Life)–One Big Experiment in Agility

As software practitioners, team members, and team leaders, we can sometimes feel at the mercy of the winds of organizational change.  And often, at the same time the powers that be are preaching “being more Agile” and “adopting an Agile mindset”, sweeping changes are being made in the tools we use, our “in office” policies, our organizational structure, and ways of working. If the recent pandemic has taught us anything, it is that we need to continuously adapt. But how can we, as individuals, each impact the trajectory of our team, project, and larger organization?  How can we “walk the walk” of being more agile?  This is where experimentation practices can play a powerful role in creating an environment where individuals and teams can have an outsized impact and shape the future of the organization.  An environment where we aren’t afraid to try new things, and failure is celebrated as learning, and agility becomes the core to not only our JIRA boards and Agile events, but to the core of how we work. In this talk, Cindy will share how anyone can start an experimentation movement, within their own team, function, or personal life!  We will practice building hypotheses and how to design experiments that are “safe to try”.  You’ll build your own experiments to try with your organization.  We’ll also touch on methods to scale experiments as new ways of working gain traction across the org.

Cindy coaches leaders, teams, and individuals through the journey, so “change” becomes the way we work.
