The Steam Drill Initiative: Enterprise Modernization through Lean, Agile, and DevOps

Transforming heritage enterprises can be challenging and not for the squeamish. Lean, Agile, DevOps methodologies are instrumental in the successful execution of a business transformation. A holistic strategy with clear initiatives that harness the power of these transformation drivers is critical for success. Also, connecting an organization's strategic imperatives to business outcomes increases the probability of sustaining a business transformation. In this session, Gautham tells the story of the SteamDrill Initiative - a strategic framework for enterprise transformations that focuses on improving the flow of value within organizations, reducing friction along the path to production, and increasing automation footprint. SteamDrill has been used successfully at several Global 2000 companies spanning various industry verticals. I also share three stories of where Lean, Agile, and DevOps with a healthy dose of Empathy helped organizations rethink and reimagine their transformation journeys. We will walk through business outcomes that had to be met, challenges and impediments encountered, and how teams rose up to the challenge and succeeded to achieve their goals. I share insights learned through validated learnings and how to enable a generative culture in an enterprise.
