Balancing Business Agility and Quality

As organizations strive to become more lean, nimble, and cost-effective, business agility is the buzz phrase of the day. But what about quality and testing? How can you achieve test and QA objectives when resources remain limited and when you are being asked to adapt to new methods at the same time? The Testing & Quality Leadership Summit is a unique opportunity for software leaders to share ideas and gain new insights into how to best balance business agility and software quality. Program chair Jeffery Payne invites you to join senior business executives —Rod Jardine, Vice President of IT Architecture, UnitedHealth Group, Dan Taylor, Director of IT Operations of GridPoint, Inc and Joel Hynoski, Engineering Manager in Test, Google, Inc.— to share your experiences and ideas about the pressing testing and quality issues we all face.

• Meet and network with your peers in the industry
• Participate in insightful and informative sessions focusing on testing and quality solutions

Testing in the Face of Relentless Change and Time Pressure C Joel Hynoski, Google, Inc. In today’s world, software engineering must learn to adapt quickly to changing needs, absorb unavoidable schedule creep, and perform almost perfectly to get our products tested in record time. We're being asked to test more complex systems with fewer people while at the same time innovating, automating, and experimenting. As Engineering Manager in Test for Chrome and the new Chrome Netbook, Joel Hynoski lives in this frenetic world every day. Joel and his small team delivered both hardware and software testing in what might appear to be insane time frames given that ChromeOS was developed and tested with an integrated hardware platform in only a year. Joel explores with you ways to deal with these very real pressures and not just survive but flourish. Together, you'll examine the methods he’s used at Google, the tools they’ve developed, and some new processes they instituted to keep the product on track. Work with Joel and other Summit participants to see how you can apply these innovations to your team and your projects. Learn more about Joel Hynoski
