Agile Philanthropy—With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility
Bob Payne, Electroglide

Agile teams deliver the goods, and now they are delivering the goods for good causes. Founded by Bob Payne, Agile Philanthropy seeks to harness the power of the agile community, using agile methods to build software and provide services for a charitable organization, a not-for-profit organization focusing on health, education, and economic development. This philanthropic effort is faced with the challenge of delivering software with part-time team members—who happen to be disbursed from California to New Zealand. Bob Payne describes how these challenges are being overcome using agile techniques coupled with lessons from the open source community including project chartering, remote product owners, distributed planning, agile engineering practices, automated acceptance testing, and communication. If you think it is time to do some good in the world, now is the time to join our project. Learn how you can participate in the LiveAid project, as a remote project member, or start up a local chapter of Agile Philanthropy.

Bonus Session—Wednesday, November 11,  6:30-7:30 after the EXPO reception
